In 2017, CDC added a 16-year-old age column to its immunization schedule for adolescents ≤18 years of age.2,3

According to the IAC, this update calls out several recommended adolescent vaccinations that are being overlooked by many providers.3

In 2019, AAFP, AAP, ACHA, and other health organizations issued a joint call to action, urging HCPs to establish an adolescent healthcare visit at 16 years of age to help ensure patients receive their meningitis ACWY (MenACWY) booster dose.4
